I hope everyone is doing well. The summer is going well here in Texas. Work has put on some travel restrictions which was great for me. I have been traveling too much and have very much enjoyed the time home. I still went to Finland in early June and made a few people upset with me for not going to NY in May. I guess I misunderstood the "travel restrictions". Overall one trip to Europe in 3 months is cake. Work is going well and I think I am actually doing a better job by not spending so much time in airports and planes. I feel a bit more grounded . . . no pun intended.
On the home front, it has been cool as well. Linda broke her ankle and had to have surgery not that that is cool. And yes, I just recoverd from my broken leg. It appears she liked the attention. Linda being down is a little more challenging though. I had to take on my work role and her role of taking care of everything else. I don't think I did either well ;) Kids don't care if you are tired as most of you know. I thought I knew that and now I know it better. All Mr. Mom joking aside, I really enjoyed the time with the kids and taking care of the house. Work politics go out the window when you are changing a poopy diaper and the other one wants your attention. My folks helped out a lot and Linda's mom came down while I was in Finland. Linda has recovered and I am taking on more family responsibilities which is good for everyone (I think).
Seth, my brother's oldest, is staying with us a few weeks this summer and then going on to visit his dad in San Fran. He is 14 and I am used to 6 and 3 year olds. I wasn't much good at being a teenager and I will admit that I was a little concerned in relating. He has been here a week and it has been great. He is very smart and challenging (much like his daddy) and can push me in regards to exercise. I am enjoying it and not as scared of my own children as they group up.
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and wish you the best
